It's Snowing Cats and Dogs...

This is my entry for this weeks Stampotique non traditional Christmas challenge.
I love these images, cute but not sickly.
I had to get all technical and use a stamp positioner and some masking tape lol.
The images have been coloured with Prisma pencils, and the sentiment is a Timmy strip die.
Please join us for a non traditional Christmas, and thanks very much for looking x

Oh Christmas Trees

A nice simple recipe for you this time at Dragons Dream Tag It On, just make a Christmas /holiday tag.
Mine was made with an alcohol ink on plain card background. Thank you Andy Skinner for the fabulous tutorial.
All of the images are by Tim Holtz, and have been stamped in Flitter glue and then gilded with various colours of Indigo Blu gilding flakes.
Nice and simple, but I like it.
So come on, no excuses, get festive and join in with our tag challenge. The only rules are that it must be a tag, and at least one real stamp must be used. The rest of it is up to you.
Thanks very much for looking x

Only 17 More Sleeps....

...till Christmas!!
I've been having another attempt at tartan with my Moonshadow inks, this time using shades of blue and purple together with Long John Silver lol. (I just love this name)
It's really hard to take a photograph because of the lovely gleam. I put some of the Long John Silver in a mister, and sprayed through a Dylusion stencil, then went over the top of it with some ferro.

Now it was time for the bling! Tim Holtz snowflakes stamped and embossed with Frantage embossing powders, enamels and glass glitter.
The Tim Holtz blueprint santa was stamped directly onto the card, and the snowflake brad was given the Frantage treatment.
The Moonshadow inks and everything Frantage can be found at The Stamp Man.

I'm entering this into the following challenges

It's Wicked Wednesday...

Stampotique is excited to sponsor the challenge over at Wicked Wednesday ATC today.  Our team has some wonderful creations for you all and there is a chance to win a $30 gift certificate for Stampotique stamps over there.  The challenge today over there is to use WINGS on your ATC.

We are also having a little challenge going on here today along with our new challenge over at Stampotique Designer's Challenge.  2013 is quickly approaching and we are looking for some Stampotique fans and followers who might be interested in being a guest designer for us next year.
So come on, it's great fun being a guest designer we don't bite - honestly :-) Check out the Stampotique Designers Blog for more details.
I used ink spritz and flick on glossy card then stamped with Vintage Script
Flying Bird has been stamped and cut out, and the words are a Tim Holtz die.

It's Only Words....

It's challenge time again over at Stampotique, and this time the theme has been chosen by the lovely and very talented Gez.
Hi Gez here, with a brand NEW challenge for you this week and I would like you ALL to get sentimental! I love to add sentiments to my artwork whether I am cardmaking or art journaling. To me a simple sentiment can say it all..
Stampotique Originals have a lovely selection of sentiments to suit all occasions and tastes and as you would expect from Stampotique some out of the norm sentiments too!
So, it's time to get creative and share your favourite sentiments with us.
Have fun!

This is a very simple card but I'm happy with it. Tree has been stamped onto black card and embossed in white. Christmas Waves A Magic Wand has been embossed in white onto kraft card, and the corners chopped off with a circle punch.
A bit of ribbon, acetate, and matting a layering and job done!
Please join in with our challenge and get all sentimental. Two $30 gift certificates are up for grabs this month, and it could be you!
Thanks very much for looking x

A Twinchie Christmas

The challenge this time around as Show Us Your Twinchies is to use traditional Christmas colours.
I've just received some Moonshadow inks from The Stamp Man and so had to have a play. I started by making my own tartan by using reds, greens and gold (these have the most amazing names like bucket o' blood red lol). Then I painted a piece of card in Long John Silver, and stamped the snowmen and the snow from  Snowy Christmas.

The second one has the same Long John Silver background, and I stamped and embossed a text stamp in red tinsel embossing powder.
Rob the Robin has been stamped onto acetate and coloured in with marker pens, then embossed with my latest favourite kaleidoscope embossing powder.
These were great fun to make and I will definitely make the tartan again in different colours.
Thanks very much for looking x

In The Bleak Midwinter

Well it seems that December has done it's usual trick and has crept up on me again! It's  gone from Summer (?) to Christmas in about a week, and yeah it sure is cold out there - again just like Summer!
So the theme over at The Stamp Man this month fits in very nicely, it's In The Bleak Midwinter.
For our challenge this month we are asking you to include your interpretation of 'in the bleak mid winter'.

We are thinking of snow and icy scenes.  Use white in your winter themed projects, perhaps as a wintry sky, a snowy scene, or perhaps snowflakes.

Maybe keep it simple and elegant showing you aren't afraid to use just white as a colour, or try using a cool combination of secondary colours.

For me that meant I had to use my new favourite stamp, which is the Stampendous Snowy  Postcard This was stamped onto so metal card and clear embossed. I then stamped it again on white card and triple embossed with Kaleidoscope embossing powder. This really makes it sparkle and has a lovely crunchy snow feel to it.
The frame cost £1 and was a lovely bright shiny silver - not bad for a quid but not quite what I wanted. I painted it in brass, copper and bronze VerDay paints and gave it a spray with the magic solution. I now had a rusty patina'd old frame, much bleaker.
I gave this a coating in Aged Marine embossing enamel then drooled a little 'cos this is beautiful. All the gold bits bubbled on the surface, and you can still see the VerDay patinas showing through.
The snowflakes and flowers are again from a £ shop, and have been embossed with a mixture of Frantage embossing powders and glass glitters.
This now has pride of place above the computer, 'cos Christmas is coming down out of the loft as I type this lol.
Please join us at The Stamp Man  and show us your Winty projects.

I'm also entering this into the Happy Daze challenge which is In The Deep Midwinter - this is where I bought my VerDay paints (I'm still in love with these).
